A few images from our trip to Charleston and Savannah, ooohhh, 5 months ago. Better late than never? We only spent a morning in Savannah, stopping first at the Bonaventure Cemetery before visiting Flannery O’Connor’s childhood home (which Jason wrote about here.) It was grey, quiet, completely empty, and I took too many pictures of red autumn leaves tangled with spanish moss. Naturally.

The green grass and stone gray of graveyards has always been the most striking combination to me. On film that contrast is a completely different story, and I’m still trying to decide if I like it.

Quick stop at a beautiful and overgrown graveyard, somewhere in New York on our way to Thousand Islands.
I’ve lived in this town for over 3 years and have never visited this graveyard, which is a shame, because I think it’s the most gorgeous one I’ve seen in a long time.
