I am so, so excited about my Charley Harper book.  Thank you thank you thank you Trish!  I spent a good part of the day yesterday sitting on the floor smiling at every page, especially his bird prints.  They’re just perfect, and I can’t wait to display them around the house.  I’m going to need a lot of frames!

 

Cleaning out old email and came across this picture taken while on Cape Code last May.  We spent a weekend there with great friends…would really love to do it again sometime.  Next time we’ll skip the Monopoly, though.  That game never ends well.

In my effort to not be annoying

My friend Lauralee just found out that she’s having a girl!  Incidentally, I refrained from doing the annoying things that people do upon finding out stuff like that, such as:

  • Yell:  “I knew it!”.  Seriously, no you didn’t, and 50/50 odds aren’t bad.
  • Ask her if she was happy that it’s a girl.  I got that all the time  What kind of question is that?  “No, I am extremely unpleased and I plan to tell her so every day.”
  • Say:  “Oh, I can tell by the way you’re carrying.”  Um, I’m pretty sure that both baby girls and baby boys gestate in the same anatomical area. 
  • Scream name suggestions at her.  Ok, I might have done that a tiny bit before I knew it was a girl.

These are just a few things that, in my pregnancy hormone-induced experience last year, got on my nerves just a tiny bit.

Congrats Lauralee!  Nursery theme suggestions to follow shortly.  What!?  That’s different and not annoying at all!

Spent the day in Salem with Becky and Hans.  Their place is fantastic.  Built before the Revolutionary War, steps out onto Salem’s Heritage Trail, and is within view of the wharf.  We had a great time.  The last time we visited with them in Salem we picked up a pregnancy test on the way home and BAM!  Baby on the way.
